Table of Contents
Generate a table of contents for your PDF. Create clickable navigation from bookmarks.
About This Tool
Table of Contents adds a contents page at the front of a PDF, built from the bookmarks the PDF already has. Each line shows a bookmark's title and the number of the page it opens, and is a link to exactly what the bookmark opens. A PDF without bookmarks cannot be used: add them first with Edit Bookmarks or Auto Generate Bookmarks.
You set the heading of the page, the text size and one of twelve standard fonts: Times, Helvetica and Courier, each in regular, bold, italic and bold italic. The page is the size of the document's first page, sub-bookmarks are indented, a long title continues on the next line, and the page numbers allow for the contents pages that are added. Titles in Arabic are written in Arabic, and the page is then laid out from the right. Arabic, Chinese and letters the chosen font does not have are written in fonts this site serves itself.
The work is done in your browser and your PDF is not uploaded. No other service is contacted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I customize the TOC appearance?
In part: the heading, the text size (8 to 24 pt) and one of twelve standard fonts. The layout is fixed. The font you choose is used for everything it can write; Arabic, Chinese and other scripts are written in the fonts this site has for them.
Where is the TOC inserted?
Always at the very beginning of the document, before the first page. The position cannot be changed.
Are the TOC entries clickable?
Yes. Each line is a link to what its bookmark opens: the same place on the same page, or the same web address.
