RTF to PDF
Convert an RTF (Rich Text Format) file to PDF in your browser. The first visit downloads a conversion engine of about 250 MB.
About This Tool
RTF to PDF turns a Rich Text Format file into a PDF document. RTF is an older word-processing format that most editors can still open and save. The tool takes .rtf files of up to 50 MB.
The file is opened by a word-processor engine that runs inside your browser and printed to PDF, so it is laid out as a document and not read as plain text. The engine brings its own fonts, with stand-ins of the same width for Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New, Calibri and Cambria; text in any other font is set in a similar one, which can move line and page breaks. To convert several files in one go, add them to the "Batch Processing" panel below the tool; each becomes its own PDF.
Your file is not uploaded: the conversion runs on your device. The engine is large, about 250 MB. It starts to download from this site when you open the page, a bar above the tool shows its progress, and your browser keeps it for later visits.

Frequently Asked Questions
What formatting is preserved?
The file is laid out by a word-processor engine, not read as plain text, so the formatting comes through as far as that engine understands it. Fonts are the usual difference: the engine has its own set, with stand-ins of the same width for Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New, Calibri and Cambria, and replaces any other font with a similar one, which can move line and page breaks.
Can I convert multiple RTF files?
Yes. The box at the top takes one file at a time, but the "Batch Processing" panel below it takes several: add the .rtf files, click "Start Processing", then "Download All" or "Download as ZIP". Each file becomes its own PDF; to join them into one, use Merge PDF.
Are embedded images supported?
Text content is the primary focus. Embedded objects may not be rendered.
