ID Photo DIY Print Tiler
Repeat one photo on a 5-inch or 6-inch photo sheet at 25 × 35 mm or 35 × 49 mm, with dashed outlines for cutting, as a PDF. Runs in your browser.
About This Tool
ID Photo DIY Print Tiler takes one photo, JPG or PNG, and repeats it in a grid on a single sheet of photo paper, saved as a PDF that you print and cut.
You choose the photo size, 25 × 35 mm or 35 × 49 mm (the list calls them 1-Inch and 2-Inch), the paper, 3.5 × 5 inches or 4 × 6 inches, and the gap between photos. The tool fits as many whole photos as the sheet holds, centers the grid and draws a thin dashed outline around each photo as a cutting guide. The photo is cropped around its center to the proportions of the chosen size, so it is not stretched.
With the gap at its starting value of 8 pt, a 6-inch sheet holds 10 small photos or 3 large ones, and a 5-inch sheet holds 8 small or 3 large. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
How to Use
Upload one photo
Choose a single JPG or PNG. Keep the face in the middle of the picture: the crop is taken around the center and cannot be moved.
Choose size, paper and gap
Pick the size under "Target Photo Specifications" and the sheet under "Print Photo Paper Dimensions", and set "Photo Snaps Gap Margin" between 2 and 20 pt. If you change them after the sheet is made, make the sheet again.
Make the sheet and print it
Click "Tile Matrix Prepress", then "Download". The picture on the page is only an illustration, so open the PDF to see your sheet. Print it at 100% (actual size) on paper of the size you chose and cut along the dashed outlines.
Use Cases
ID photos at home
Print several copies of an ID photo on one sheet of photo paper, when 25 × 35 mm or 35 × 49 mm is the size you were asked for.
Spare photos for forms
Keep a sheet of small photos ready for school, club or job application forms.
Small prints of any picture
The tool does not check what the picture shows, so it also makes a sheet of identical small prints of a logo, a label or a drawing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are 1-Inch and 2-Inch real measurements?
No, they are names of photo sizes. 1-Inch is 25 × 35 mm and 2-Inch is 35 × 49 mm, and the photos print at those sizes when you print the PDF at 100% (actual size). No other size is offered, so the tool cannot make 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inch photos.
How many photos fit on a sheet?
That depends on the gap. At 8 pt a 6-inch sheet holds 10 small photos or 3 large ones, and a 5-inch sheet holds 8 small or 3 large. A smaller gap can fit more: large photos on 6-inch paper come to 8 with a gap of 2 or 3 pt and to 4 with a gap of 4 to 7 pt. One sheet holds one photo in one size; you cannot mix sizes or photos.
Is there a margin or a bleed around the photos?
There is no fixed margin and no bleed. The grid is centered, so the border is whatever space is left on the sheet. Only the two photo papers are offered; there is no A4 or Letter sheet. The tool does not remove the background and does not check the photo against official rules such as head size or background color.
