PDFs to ZIP

Package multiple PDFs into a ZIP archive. Compress and bundle PDF files.

About This Tool

PDFs to ZIP puts several PDF files into one ZIP archive, so that they can be sent, stored or backed up as a single file.

The archive is always named pdfs.zip, and a slider sets how hard it is compressed, from 0 to 9. PDF files are already compressed inside, so the archive is usually about as large as the files together. Each file goes in as it is and keeps its own date. A password-protected PDF stays protected, and you are not asked for its password. Of two files with the same name the second is given a number, as in "scan (2).pdf", and the list says so before the archive is made.

All processing happens in your browser, ensuring your files remain private.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much compression is applied?

Very little, as a rule. PDF files are already compressed inside, so the archive usually comes out about the size of the files together, whatever the level. To make the PDFs themselves smaller, put them through Compress PDF first.

Is there a file limit?

Up to 100 PDFs can be added at a time, each up to 200 MB, and more can be added afterwards. Two files with the same name are both kept: the second goes in with a number after its name, as in "scan (2).pdf".

Can I set a password?

No, the archive cannot be given a password. A PDF that has a password of its own goes into the archive as it is, still protected by that password.
