CBZ to PDF

Turn a CBZ comic archive (or a ZIP of pictures) into a PDF, one picture per page, in file-name order.

About This Tool

CBZ to PDF takes the pictures out of a comic book archive and puts each one on a page of a PDF. Pages follow the file names, folder by folder, with numbers read as numbers (page2 before page10), which is the reading order when the files are numbered. A plain ZIP of pictures works as well; CBR (RAR) archives do not.

Choose the page size: "Original" makes each page the size of its picture, counting one pixel as one point (1/72 inch), while A4, Letter and "Comic" give every page one size, with the picture fitted inside it or, if you untick "Preserve aspect ratio", stretched to fill it. Under "Pictures", "As they are" puts JPEG and PNG pictures into the PDF unchanged (GIF, BMP and WebP pictures, which a PDF cannot hold, are saved again as PNG or as high-quality JPEG), and "Smaller file" saves every picture again as JPEG at the quality you set. A picture the tool cannot read is left out, and the result names it.

All conversion happens locally in your browser, ensuring your comics remain private.

How to Use

  1. Upload CBZ File

Upload your .cbz comic book archive file.

  2. Select Options

Choose a page size and, for the fixed sizes, whether to keep the proportions of each picture; then choose whether the pictures go in as they are or are saved again for a smaller file.

  3. Convert and Download

Click "Convert to PDF" ("Cancel" stops it) and download the PDF. If a picture could not be read, a note under the result names it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBZ format?

CBZ is a ZIP archive containing comic book pages as image files, renamed with .cbz extension.

Is image quality preserved?

With "As they are", JPEG and PNG pages are stored in the PDF exactly as they are in the archive; GIF, BMP and WebP pages, which a PDF cannot hold, are saved again as PNG or as high-quality JPEG. With "Smaller file", every page is saved again as JPEG at the quality you set, which loses a little detail.

Are nested folders supported?

Yes, images from all folders within the archive are extracted and sorted.
